The Godfather was released by US Gold in 1991. It is based on the Academic Award winner The Godfather trilogy. Strangely, The Godfather by US Gold is an action game and rather than an adventure game. The 256-color VGA graphics is very well polished.
When I first play Godfather, I am totally impressed by the introduction scene with multi-layer New York city as the background. As each layer of the city move in the different speed, it create a very 3D feel for this 2D game.
To say, Godfather is a very difficult game. If I'm not mistaken, I spend a few months in practising before completing the game. And to make thing worse is, there are no save game system and we're given only one life. Means if we die in the level 3, we have to play from the level 1 again!
Therefore, normally, after we die in the level 3 or level 4, we won't have the mood to play it from the beginning again in that same day. For me, one day at most I can play it twice.
In some levels, we will go into point and shoot scene like in Operation Wolf. To get through these levels, we have to memorize on which part the enemies will pop up. Failing to do this means we will be killed withing seconds.
As I say, Godfather is a well polished game. There are even a few way we can die. The thombstone below is only one of the example.
You can get Godfather here.
