Test Drive 3 was released by Accolate in 1990. It is sold as a racing game, but I feel that it is more a simulation game than a racing game.
Unlike other racing game in the era, Test Drive 3 uses a real 3D engine. Of course the 3D engine support only polygon rendering, no texture mapping or other fancy effects.
The other unique part of Test Drive 3 is we virtually can drive to any where. We can drive to the mountain, to the field, to the houses beside the road, and so on.
Though it is a unique feature, but I think it is quite troublesome too. It is quite hard for us to stay on the road when we drive a bit faster.
To complete a race, we have to drive carefully, avoid being caught by traffic police, hitting trees and rocks, and arrive the destination before time limit.
